What Was I Thinking??

So here is the beginning of my Wavy scarf (pattern from knitty.com) Now, I intended this to be for my friend Nikki that just recently moved to Dallas. And I was thinking just as I uploaded this picture, What the heck does she need a wool scarf for in Dallas?? Clearly, I'm gonna have to rethink my choice of yarn & scarf pattern for her. She needs something that's more for show than warmth. Maybe something ribbony in fall colors? I'll let you know what I come up with later.

Cooperstown, NY LYS

I went up to Cooperstown, NY over Labor Day weekend because Christian had a baseball tournament. Cooperstown is really nice, beautiful and scenic. Of course I found the LYS-Sybil's Yarn Shop. It was a little trailer next door to her house that was stocked full of yarn. I picked up some Cascade 220 at $5.25/skein. Not bad, eh?

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you? I wouldn't consider myself a snob, but I do try to avoid 100% acrylic if at all possible.

2. Do you spin? Crochet? I crochet.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.) I'm not allergic, but I hate to smell smoke.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? Living with my boytoy of 6 years and we have a pit/shephard/boxer mix.
