Knit Picks Arrived!

And the yarn came quickly! I was like a 6 yr-old on Christmas morning. Here are pics of what I got. I had to send the Suri Dream back (not pictured). It wasn't what I was expecting. It is comparable to LionBrand moonlight mohair but I wanted something thicker. I'm pleased with what I kept. I can now get started on Christmas gifts. The green is the Sierra, then from left to right there is Wool of the Andes and 2 colors of Andean Silk.

Shrugs, Shrugs Everywhere!

I am definitely on a shrug kick. I’ve got 2 on the needles right now. My 2nd one skein wonder and the ruffle sleeve 1x1 rib shrug posted on the Interweave Knits website. The 1x1 rib is kicking my tail! It seems like I’ve been working on it forever. It’s been 3 weeks and I STILL have 9 more inches to go before the last ruffle. And a fellow SnB chick designed a shrug pattern that I can’t wait to get the yarn to start. But after that shrug, I’ll definitely be starting my chunky knit projects.

Knit Picks

So I just placed my first order to Knit Picks. I’ve heard such good things about it and the prices are really good. I ordered pretty much everything I need for my Christmas gifts…and a couple things for myself (of course). I got enough yarn for 10 projects and spent only $100. 10 bucks a project? I’ve spent the same amount for 2-3 projects at my LYS. I also ordered color cards for the various yarns they have cause I just have a feeling that I’ll be ordering plenty from them in the future.

One Skein Wonder

OK, so I didn’t only work on jewelry this past weekend. As a matter fact, ALL I did was finish up my one skein wonder. I already have plans for a second…and a third. The next one will have short sleeves and be made of Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran in slate blue. I think the 3rd will be made of some fuzzy, angora type material.
