I Got Another One Done

Here's another hat...a Christmas gift for my friend Shonda. Orange is her favorite color. It's stockinette with a border of blanket moss stitch.

Hola...Que pasa amigas!

Well, I'm back! I had a terrific time in the DR or the RD...it depends on who you're talking to. Beautiful weather...when we left Manhattan it was almost 70 degrees, in the DR it was upper 80s and then we came back to 30s and howling wind...and I think the sun set at 3:30 yesterday. Am I right about that?? I've decided I'm moving back there to work at a resort as a part of the recreational staff. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Glad to cuddle with Wolfen again. I'm taking him next time and then I don't ever have to come back :) Posted by Picasa

Not too much yarn work was done

I did start on the Blizzard shawl from Scarfstyle for Cindy. I think I want one for myself.

A Season of Firsts

A few days ago I joined my first knit-a-long. It's for hats...see the button in the sidebar. And last nite I finished my first hat. One down and a million more to go! I decided that it's taking me too long to make scarves so I'm making mostly hats as Christmas gifts. This hat is the Spike pattern from the Rowan book The Next Big Thing.

Who Says We Only Stitch & Bitch?

Last nite, a few of us went to MUD's place to watch a fellow SnBers debut as Cassie on Guiding Light. Check her out. Well, we did knit while watching the show. It's so weird seeing someone you know in flesh and blood acting on screen. She's pretty good and I might just start watching the show regularly, yep, I'm a TV watcher.

Rowan 'Halle' vest

I finished another item. No, not a gift, this one is for me too. This is the last thing I work on for myself until after Christmas, I promise. This is the Halle vest from the Rowan book, The Next Big Thing. I used just under 2 skeins of Rowan Big Wool. I'm not as happy with this one as I was with the mini-sweater. It's a little big. I might try to squeeze some hot water through it to see if it will shrink a little more. And I realize that I definitely need to learn how to bind off 'in pattern'.

Yay! Fun Mail!

I came home last night to see that my Knit Picks order had FINALLY arrived. I know I only ordered it last Wed, but last time I ordered on a Wed I got it that Fri. So what was the hold up this time? Oh well, no worries, I have it now. I got the Decadence alpaca for the Scarfstyle wrap for Cindy and more of the same for a cardigan for my niece. I also got a couple skeins for the secret pal that I am spoiling. AND I got a set of Denise Interchangeables. I have been wanting these for a long time.
I also got a postcard from my SP. That was a nice surprise. She's canadian and that's my only hint.
