Charm swap
A jewelry yahoo group that I belong to had a sterling charm swap. Here are the ones I made. I'll post a picture of the bracelet I make with the charms I receive later.

I am making a vow to spend my time this weekend making only jewelry…no knitting, no crocheting, just beading. I haven’t sat down and made jewelry in ages and I haven’t touched the website either. I have tons of beads and lots of ideas but now it’s time to realize the vision. And this is the perfect weekend to update the site because the sign-up for the Happily Handmade Giveaway ends on July 31st.
All of my friends pretty much knew that they were getting something knitted for Christmas. So I decided to give them a few options so that whatever they got, it would be something that they had chosen and therefore would hopefully actually use and not stuff in a drawer. All of the options came from the Rowan Little Book of Big Accessories. I think I can handle pretty much all of the patterns in there, and if not, I can always get help at Stitch n Bitch. And I need to get started NOW!
Katy organized a yarn crawl of several stores in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. I’m so glad that she did this because I probably would never seek out yarn stores in Brooklyn on my own. We started out at Purl Soho, where Jolene was very nice to open up an hour early for us. While there we met Teva Durham, author of Loop-d-Loop. And of course everyone forgot to bring their copy for her to sign it. Yarnivore was our last stop. We were all very intrigued by the name so we HAD to go there. The owner is super nice but her selection was super small. That was a big let down. A very good thing, though, is that I have found a new favorite LYS in Downtown Yarns.
